An English-speaking (or better Russian-speaking!) doctor?

Sorry for writing this in English, but I don't speak German.

I'm from Russia and here, like in many other countries, drugs like Medikinet are banned, so I must go abroad to deal with it.

For now I have years-long experience of taking different antidepressants without any positive effect.

I tried to find an English- or Russian-speaking doctor using KV-Berlin, but most of them won't work with ADD.

Could you please help me to find someone who will?

    Hi walkingsswamp,

you could try this: Regionale Netze
It's a list of doctors and institutions specialiced in ADHD according to federal states, you will probably find an english speaking Person there or maybe russian, too.

    Good luck and best regards,

    Hey walkingswamp,

am I getting this right: you came to Belin to get treatment for your ADD? Are you planning on returning to Russia? How are you going to continue your treatment from there if the medication is banned? Is Strattera (theoretically an ADD but currently used for the treatment of ADD) also banned in Russia?

I know a Polish speaking doctor in Berlin. Since he was born in Poland maybe he learned Russian at school but I don't know for sure. Pretty sure he speaks English though. However, in order for me being able to send you his address you need to get accepted by a mod and write a couple of posts in the forum.

Hi Persephone! I plan to stay there for a possible short time (as it is expensive) to know whether a drug will work.

Depending on the results of this pre-treatment, I'll try to move to a country where needed drugs are legal. I'm an IT professional, so I hope to find a job (it's not an easy goal actually: despite most of colleagues think I'm smart and all, my flaw is a real obstacle on a way to get anything done).

Strattera is legal here, but useless for me. I find quite helpful a dose of alcohol (150-200gr of whiskey or brandy), but you know, it's a very harmful "help".

I'd be grateful for an email of that doctor. I'll send you a private message when i'll be accepted.

    Hey,

I just googled and found this page: https://www.weisse-liste.de/de/arzt/arztsuche/
If you scroll down, there's a telephone number: 0800 0 11 77 24 --> it's for russian speakers who search for telephone counselling about health related issues/questions.
Maybe they can help you as well.

    Good luck for your journey

btw.: yea, alcohol is the worst kind of help there is... hopefully you'll find a much better substitute

Well, after some browsing through PubMed posts, I learned that the nicotine has a potential to help me with my ADD.

So I bought a pack of 10mg nicotine patches and have one sticked on a hairless part of an arm. I feel a sort of dizziness (I am a non-smoker), but in the same time, I'm able to read boring texts and even do boring tasks. It could be a placebo effect, so let's see if the effects lasts.

I know about a possible addiction and it worries me a lot.

among ADD patients you will find many more smokers compared to the entire population. Nicotine seems to help but is highly addictive...

Kaeptn, thank you for important note! It seems nicotine is a weak, but still real helper (and harms its taker less, compared to alcohol beverages).

I know a bit about neural networks, and if my brain working in the same manner nicotine patches should be less addictive than cigarettes/vaporizers because patches deliver nicotine permanently and slow, while cigarettes give extremally high dose every time brain wants to be stimulated. Such positive feedback could develop a strong and unpleasant response to nicotine deficit. Brain is such a spoiled brat sometimes.

Aaaand, nicotine patches effect is started to fade. Will stop using them after the last patch.

AddOn, I wouldn't recommend to move here to anyone, but if you REALLY REALLY want to, you better be healthy. Most of health-related things here are much cheaper, but less effective. Then, there are many things to consider, like what would you do for living etc, but it's an offtopic here.
